Literature Text

Eddie kept his promise to not hurt you again. In fact, he seemed even more focused on finding Waylon and getting out of the mental hospital. Who wouldn't? After everything that he was put through, it would make sense that he would want to leave.

And that's what bothered you; Eddie was insane. He wasn't supposed to have rational thoughts like leaving a place where he is top dog. He also stopped talking about wedding dresses and flowers and things that he wanted. He remained silent for most of the time, only speaking to (f/n) when he asked her to hide or be quiet.

Not that she would make any noise. She was getting scared but not of Eddie; Eddie's proved over and over that all he wanted was to get married and as long as she played into his delusion, she would be safe. And yet, a small doubt poked her thoughts once in a while to remind her of the situation.

"When I was a boy, my mother said to me, 'Get married, son and see how happy you can be~'"
He was singing again; good.

He hummed as he held your hand in a gentle but firm grasp. It made you smile a little as it reminded you of the time Waylon wanted you to meet Lisa.

"Darling, can you pay attention to me? I asked you a question."
"Wha? Oh! Sorry! What was it?"
"I asked you if you heard your brother. It was a groan coming from this room."

She slowly peeked into the room, the lobby, before seeing two people, one standing up wielding a knife and the other...
"Waylon!"

(f/n) didn't think; she ran towards Jeremy Blare, not caring that she was putting her life at stake. All that mattered was protecting them from him.

"You little bitch!" Jeremy was on the ground, holding his nose as it leaked blood. She looked for the knife, feeling the ground for anything sharp or jagged to fight with.

"Darling!" (f/n) looked up and saw a knife in Eddie's hands. He slid it across the floor and she jumped on it, happy that she can at least try to protect them from Jeremy.

"No! No one can know anything!" Jeremy lunged at Eddie before getting stabbed in the shoulder by (f/n).
"Give up Blare! It's over!"
"But I stole the camera, destroyed it! Even if you leave this place, no one will ever believe you!"

Ice ran through (f/n)'s veins; that camera was gone?
"Liar! I *cough* have it!" Waylon held up a camera, bloody and broken but intact.

Jeremy was about to jump on Waylon again but (f/n) grabbed his wrist. He reach back and cut her cheek to try and make her let go but she wouldn't.
"Let go of my darling!" Eddie reached for Jeremy but he threw the knife into Eddie's stomach. He fell back, coughing up some blood slowly dieing before (f/n)'s eyes.

"Eddie!"
Waylon and (f/n) went to Eddie to try and make him comfortable, but Jeremy was standing there, smirking proudly at the variant's slow, painful death.

"You crazy bastard, did you ever think someone like that would willingly marry you? She was using you, leading you on. She probably would have stabbed you in the back if I didn't first."
"No Eddie that's not true! I would never-"

"I know (f/n)..." his voice was weak but yet it was strong enough to make her stop. It had been the first time he had called her by her name.

"Eddie...please...please don't go..."
"But darling...I'm so tired..."
"Uh (f/n)!!!"

(f/n) looked back and saw Jeremy preparing to kill them too so she grabbed Waylon and Eddie, covering them with her small body. She waited for the pain but all she heard was screaming. She didn't dare look when something wet hit her back. She kept her eyes focused on Eddie's eyes and kicked herself for not noticing how blue they were.

"Darling..."
"Please don't go...I...I love you, Eddie."
Eddie smiled and kissed (f/n)'s forehead gently with his bloody lips, "I l-love you, d-darling...go...leave with your brother...be h-happy..."
"Eddie..."

"(f/n), let's go!" Waylon pulled her arm and forced her out the door.
"Wait...Waylon..."
"Yeah Eddie?"
"...please...take c-care of her...I really do l-love her..."
"I will and...and Eddie?"
"hmm?" Eddie's response was weak but there.
"...I would've loved to have you as a brother-in-law...and my kids would have loved to have an uncle..."

Eddie looked at Waylon's tear-stained face before pulling out a pocket watch and ring of his vest pocket, "...Give this watch to them...to remember an uncle they didn't meet...and give (f/n) this ring...it was my mother's...she...she would have wanted my bride to have it..."
Waylon took the things and ran outside to (f/n), who was waiting in Miles' jeep.

As he heard them drive away, he heard a gentle humming, a buzzing that comforted him into a black cloud of peace.
'Is this what dying is like? Will I get to see (f/n) in heaven? I love you, (f/n)...I always will...'

"Oh you're not going to heaven...but you're not dying, man. You'll get to see her again...but first we have to find her...her and Waylon."

Sequel? Eddie is my favorite...after Foxy. However! Different universe!

Was that Jeremy talking at the end?
